CRONA, which represents the workers, and its bargaining team are unanimously recommending ratification of the tentative agreement. A ratification vote will be held on May 11.
The union said the tentative agreement includes wage increases, improved retirement benefits, differential pay for precepting, pre-approved vacation and education time, limitations on mandatory on-call and pre-designation of sleep rooms and limitations on excessive floating.
Earlier this month, the nurses voted to authorize their union’s leadership to call a strike after failing to reach a deal in three days of mediation with hospital administrators over wages and benefits. However, a strike was not formally called.
