St. Elizabeth Medical Center Axes 50 Positions

Utica, N.Y.-based St. Elizabeth Medical Center has eliminated 50 positions, leading to 10 layoffs, according to a report by the Observer-Dispatch.

The layoffs have affected executive leadership, administrators and patient-care employees, according to the report.

St. Elizabeth officials cited Medicaid cuts, as well as reduced Medicare reimbursements, as the reason for the workforce reduction, according to the report.
