The Nurses Association of Lower Bucks Hospital, part of the Pennsylvania Association of Staff Nurses and Allied Professionals, represents the nurses, and is in negotiations with the medical center.
According to the Philadelphia Business Journal, the nurses claim the medical center’s owner, Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare, refuses to address key contract issues, such as retaining experienced bedside nurses, after more than 10 months of bargaining.
Rich Leonowitz, director of business development and physician practice operations at Lower Bucks Hospital, said of contract negotiations, “We have put a fair proposal on the table. It is fair to the nurses and the rest of the hospital. We are confident what is on the table will work for everybody,” according to the report.
