Kaiser Permanente Hawaii says picketers have gone too far

Officials at Honolulu-based Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center have accused Unite Here Local 5 union picketers of using dangerous tactics as part of their strike, according to a KITV report.

According to the hospital, picketers have blocked hospital entrances, resulting in delays and inconveniencing patients trying to pull in and out of the hospital’s parking lot.

A union representative denied the claims, saying picketers have been cooperating with police and hospital security guards to ensure demonstrations remained problem-free.

The strike is scheduled to last through Saturday but picketing should wrap up on Friday, according to the report.
