Healthcare Job Openings, Hires Up in January

There were about 4 million job openings on the last business day of January, and 616,000 were in healthcare and social assistance, according to the most recent numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

That represents an increase of 64,000 job openings from December 2013 to January in the healthcare and social assistance sector.

Hiring in the sector also increased, as there were 466,000 hires in January compared to 461,000 last December. Hires are also up compared to January 2013’s 459,000.
