NY health system names revenue cycle manager, director: 6 things to know

Utica, N.Y.-based Mohawk Valley Health System named two revenue cycle leaders.

Here are six things to know. 

 
Cody White was named executive director of revenue cycle.
 

1. Mr. White will oversee revenue cycle operations and the design, implementation and maintenance of initiatives and work plans related to increasing net revenue, the system said via news release. 

 
2. He previously worked at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica as an intern and then as a revenue cycle specialist.
  

3. He also previously worked at Utica College, where he earned master’s and bachelor’s degrees.
  

Sean Phelan was named manager of revenue cycle.
  

4. Mr. Phelan will help create and reinforce effective business practices within a number of system areas, according to MVHS. These areas are patient access services, health information management, patient financial services and the system’s medical group.
  

5. He previously worked at Utica-based Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare in hospitality services and later as a revenue cycle specialist.
  

6. He also previously worked at the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance.
