Wilmington Hospital to Finish First Phase of $210M Expansion, Renovation Project

Wilmington (Del.) Hospital, part of Wilmington-based Christiana Care Health System, has almost completed the construction of a 286,000-square-foot patient tower, according to a Philadelphia Business Journal report.

The tower is the first phase of the hospital’s $210 million expansion and renovation project, and its first two floors will open June 24.

 

The overall project also includes the construction of a 51,000-square-foot medical office building, a new surgical suite with 13 operating rooms and four procedure rooms, a 30-bed unit for the hospital’s Center for Advanced Joint Replacement and a new intensive-care unit. It is slated to be completed by 2014, according to the report.
