West River Regional Medical Center (Hettinger, N.D.). This nationally recognized hospital is tucked away in southwestern North Dakota. The hospital offers 20 acute beds, two beds in an intensive care unit and three beds in a birthing unit, as well as four outpatient rooms. The National Rural Health Association has named West River Regional Medical Center as a Top 20 Critical Access Hospital two years in a row, in 2014 and 2015, and iVantage Health Analytics has placed the hospital on the Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals list twice, most recently in 2015.
