The hospital has already raised more than $10 million for the center but is seeking an additional $5 million from community members to fund the project. CAMC will contribute the remaining $24 million.
The new, roughly 100,000-square-foot cancer center will replace the existing David Lee Cancer Center at CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston. The facility will offer medical oncology, clinical trials, radiation therapy and outpatient surgery. CAMC’s breast cancer center may also eventually move into the new building.
Construction is scheduled to begin late this summer and is expected to be completed in 18 months.
