Virginia’s Bon Secours Requests Cancer Care Relocation From Maryview to Harbour View Health Center

Bon Secours Hampton Roads Health System has requested state approval to relocate its cancer radiation therapy services from Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth, Va., to Harbour View Health Center in Suffolk, Va., according to a Virginian-Pilot report.

The hospital wants to develop this comprehensive $10.8 million center at Harbour View because it is more central to its patient base and would help the organization keep up with the growing population. If the plans are approved, cancer care at Portsmouth, where the hospital recently broke ground on an addition to Maryview’s cancer center, would end.
