Hospitals, ASCs Turn to Outsourcing for Improved ROI on Capital Expenditures

Larger hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers have recently shown an increased interest in outsourcing services such as cataract and ophthalmology, which is driving growth for companies like Vantage Outsourcing in Effingham, Ill.

“With healthcare changes on the horizon, hospitals and ASCs are looking at their procedures to analyze why they may not have high return on investment for certain capital expenditures. They are choosing to outsource the services where they do not have a high ROI, and that is where a company like ours comes in,” says Kipp Fesenmaier, vice president of business development for Vantage Outsourcing.

Vantage has seen a great deal of growth in its cataract outsourcing services, which is evident in the company’s expansion to California and recent business growth. Mr. Fesenmaier expects outsourcing of retinol procedures to pick up as well.
