UT Southwestern Medical Center (Dallas). UT Southwestern Medical Center is home to the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center, founded in 1989. The Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center has more than 275 cancer researchers and offers patients access to 40 investigator-initiated clinical trials. The center supports five multidisciplinary scientific programs focused on cancer research and holds a formal research affiliation with the University of Texas School of Public Health to develop strategies for cancer screening and prevention.
