University of California Davis Medical Center cardiologists performed the hospital’s first transcatheter aortic valve replacement in 2012, marking the first time a minimally invasive heart valve replacement was performed in Sacramento. The hospital’s surgeons have performed 550 TAVR procedures to date. U.S. News & World Report ranked UC Davis Medical Center among the top 50 hospitals in the nation for cardiology and heart surgery in 2017-18.
