The LSU hospitals in Shreveport, La., Monroe, La., and Alexandria, La., may seek suitors by the end of the year. This is because the hospitals are facing budget cuts and harder financial times. For instance, LSU Shreveport needs a partner for guaranteed cash and the flexibility to adjust to the market, according to the report.
“We are committed to a thorough fact-find process and exploring possibilities that would ensure continuation of our important mission of education, patient care and research,” said LSU Shreveport Chancellor Robert Barish, MD, in a memo to employees, according to the report.
Additional information on each hospital’s partnership search was not disclosed.
