UCSF Medical Center includes three cardiology divisions at UCSF Medical Center at Parnassus/Mount Zion/Mission Bay, San Francisco General Hospital and the San Francisco VA Medical Center. U.S. News & World Report ranked UCSF Medical Center as the No. 2 hospital in California and No. 45 in the nation for cardiology and heart surgery in its 2016-17 rankings. The medical center was also designated as high-performing for heart failure in its common care ratings. The medical center earned Magnet accreditation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center and a Blue Distinction Center for Cardiac Care designation from Blue Cross Blue Shield.
