UCSF Medical Center (San Francisco). UCSF Medical Center, which has three cardiology divisions located at UCSF Medical Center at Parnassus/Mount Zion/Mission Bay, San Francisco General Hospital and the San Francisco VA Medical Center, was named among the top 50 hospitals in the nation for cardiology and heart surgery by U.S. News & World Report in 2015-16. It is a designated Blue Distinction Center for Cardiac Care and has been Magnet-designated since 2012. It also has one of the of nation’s most competitive cardiology training programs, in which more than 400 applicants annually compete for six fellowship positions.
