UCLA taps chief of thoracic surgery

Bryan Burt, MD, an internationally renowned surgeon-scientist and surgical oncologist, was named chief of thoracic surgery at UCLA Health.

Dr. Burt will lead the thoracic surgical team as well as run a research lab in the UCLA Health Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center to study immunotherapy in thoracic malignancies, according to a Nov. 28 system news release.

Previously, Dr. Burt was the chief of thoracic surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
