Three North Carolina Health Systems to Battle Over Three ORs in State CON Process

Three large Health systems in Raleigh-Durham, N.C., will have to fight over a state quota of three new ORs for the area, according to a report by the Triangle Business Journal.

Duke University Health System, WakeMed Health & Hospitals and UNC Health Care have filed competing certificate of need applications for the same OR quota.

The state’s 2010 State Medical Facilities Plan allows only three ORs to be added this year in Wake County, N.C.
