The lawsuit against Memphis-area hospitals operated by Baptist Memorial Healthcare Corp. and Methodist Healthcare is one of four such attempted suits backed by Service Employees International Union that charged hospitals and health systems in Albany, N.Y., Chicago, Memphis and San Antonio, Texas, with depressing nurses’ wages, according to the report.
The judge in the case called the suit “untimely,” as the plaintiffs waited two years before proposing class action and said that the suit was now brought by two parties seeking redress for their claims, according to the report.
