The results of the study conducted by researchers from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, is somewhat surprising considering CTC is less invasive and faster than colonoscopy.
The research was led by Greg Rosenfeld, MD, at the University of British Columbia. The study compared same-day colonoscopy and CTC among 90 subjects who were at average risk for colorectal cancer. The subjects indicated they experienced less anxiety and pain with colonoscopy, and were more likely to request colonoscopy over CTC for future screenings.
