Stony Brook Medicine taps vascular surgery chief

Stony Brook (N.Y.) Medicine has appointed Rabih Chaer, MD, as chief of vascular and endovascular surgery, and as an associate professor of surgery.

Dr. Chaer previously served as division chief of vascular surgery and co-director of the Heart and Vascular Institute at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, according to a June 4 news release from Stony Brook.

He also directed the University of Pittsburgh’s vascular surgery training programs for a decade, the release said.
