Metropolitan Methodist Hospital in Texas Begins $50M Expansion

Metropolitan Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, part of San Antonio-based Methodist Healthcare, has begun work on its $50 million expansion, according to a San Antonio Express-News report.

The expansion includes an 85,000-square-foot, 48-bed intensive care unit tower with an operating room recovery area and a gastrointestinal lab, according to the report.

The project was prompted by population growth in the area, resulting in a need for greater patient capacity, according to the report.
