The SLU Center for Cancer Prevention, Research and Outreach will expand screening, detection and treatment of cancer to immigrant minorities, such as the Bosnian and Hispanic communities in St. Louis, in addition to African Americans.
The center will work with local community organizations to offer free cancer screenings and educational and informational presentations, according to the report.
St. Louis-based Ascension Health, Emerson and the Express Scripts Foundation are giving a combined $1.25 million, five-year grant to Saint Louis University to support the center.
