Jim Barnhart, CEO and chief mission officer of PeaceHealth Siuslaw Region, has been asked to lead in the planning and development of the new facility.  Mr. Barnhart will continue his current position part-time until the new San Juan facility is completed in 2012.

The San Juan Island community will contribute $10 million to the construction of the new facility and over $60 million in tax revenues over 50 years to support the delivery of healthcare for residents and visitors. PeaceHealth will build, own and operate the new facility, which will provide an expanded range of on-island healthcare services, including new, state-of-the-art medical, diagnostic and imaging services, a 24-hour emergency room and a fully integrated, electronic medical record system, according to the report.
