Marty Cahill has been appointed president and CEO of Corvallis, Ore.-based Samaritan Health Services, effective May 19.

Mr. Cahill has served in leadership roles at the system since 2007, most recently as COO of Samaritan hospitals, according to an April 15 system news release. He previously served as CEO of Samaritan Lebanon (Ore.) Community Hospital.

He will succeed Doug Boysen, who has led the system for eight years. Mr. Boysen in December announced plans to step down in 2025.

Following the leadership transition, Mr. Boysen will assume a consultative role through early June, the release said.

Samaritan Health Services includes five hospitals, nearly 100 medical clinics and more than 5,300 employees.
