Oregon Health and Science University Hospital (Portland)
Physicians at OHSU’s Knight Cardiovascular Institute performed the first surgery with an artificial valve in 1960 and developed angioplasty in 1964. Oregon Health and Science University Hospital ranked No. 36 in the nation and first in Oregon for cardiology and heart surgery in U.S. News & World Report 2016-17 rankings. The hospital received Magnet recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is listed as a high-performing hospital for heart failure, bypass and aortic valve surgery by US News & World Report.
