Orange County–Irvine Medical Center is part of Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente, which includes 38 hospitals, 651 medical offices and more than 11.3 million members of its health plans. Orange County–Irvine Medical Center has a total of 1,599 employees and 186 physicians. In 2016 it was named a Top Teaching Hospital by Leapfrog, and in 2015 it was designated a Gold level Fit-Friendly Worksite by the American Heart Association. The Orange County Business Journal named Kaiser Permanente one of the “Best Places to Work in Orange County” in 2015.
