OHSU Knight Cancer Institute appoints interim chief executive

Shivaani Kummar, MD, has been appointed interim chief executive of Portland-based Oregon Health and Science University’s Knight Cancer Institute.

She will serve as interim chief until OHSU interim President Steve Stadum appoints a permanent leader, according to a March 20 news release from the university. 

Dr. Kummar will also serve as chief of the institute’s cancer business unit, while remaining in her current roles as leader of OHSU School of Medicine’s division of hematology and medical oncology and co-director of Knight Cancer Institute’s Center for Experimental Therapeutics.

She has been with OHSU since 2020, the release said.
