Children’s Hospital of Illinois to Acquire Pediatric Cardiology Associates of Northern Illinois

Children’s Hospital of Illinois in Peoria, part of OSF HealthCare System, has acquired Rockford, Ill.-based Pediatric Cardiology Associates of Northern Illinois, according to a news release by the hospital.

The practice and its three physicians will join the Children’s Hospital Congenital Heart Center, effective July 24, becoming OSF Children’s Medical Group – Congenital Heart Center.

The new affiliation is expected to allow PCANI to expand congenital heart surgery, complex specialized cardiovascular surgery, and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation services. Patients will continue to be cared for in the Rockford office.
