The new 150,000 square-foot hospital, operated by non-profit Norton Sound Health Corp., is triple the size of the hospital’s existing facility and will bring primary care, ambulatory and inpatient services under one roof.
The project was largely funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
“This is a huge benefit for the nearly 10,000 residents who live in the Bering Straits region,” Angie Gorn, interim president and CEO of Norton Sound Health Corp., said in the report.
