New York Hospital VP Brendan McGrath Killed in Storm

Brendan McGrath, vice president of Community General Hospital in Syracuse, N.Y., was killed when a tree fell on his car during a storm this weekend in the New York City area, according to a report by WSYR TV.

The tree crushed the roof of Mr. McGrath’s sedan and entangled it in live wires while he and his wife were visiting Hartsdale, N.Y. Ms. McGrath escaped from the passenger side but Mr. McGrath, age 58, was found dead in the driver’s seat.

Before joining 306-bed Community General Hospital in 2006, Mr. McGrath had been CEO of 266-bed Auburn (N.Y.) Memorial Hospital
