The surgery center, which will provide outpatient surgeries, such as cataract removals, diagnostic colonoscopies and prostate biopsies, and specialty and diagnostic services, such as pharmacy, digital x-rays, CT scans and MRIs, will eliminate 95 percent of veterans’ visits to San Antonio for medical care, according to a news release from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
While veterans said they are pleased with the plans for the surgery center, some said the area needs a veterans hospital to offer treatment for all problems, according to the Valley Morning Star.
