The NCI developed the survivorship care standards in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs and other HHS agencies as part of President Biden’s Cancer Moonshot, according to the government’s Office of Cancer Survivorship website.
Health systems are encouraged to use the toolkit to evaluate if its existing survivorship programs align with the National Standards for Cancer Survivorship Care.
The standards, published May 13 in the Journal of Cancer Survivorship, are policy and procedure recommendations that health systems can implement to improve survivorship care.
