Moffitt Cancer Center names physician of the year

Tampa, Fla.-based Moffitt Cancer Center named Jonathan Zager, MD, physician of the year.

Dr. Zager is the chief academic officer, a surgical oncologist and senior member of the department of cutaneous oncology and sarcoma. He has worked at Moffitt for 18 years, and his clinical focuses include regional therapy treatment of cutaneous melanoma and nonmelanoma skin cancers and soft tissue sarcomas, according to a Feb. 27 hospital news release.

The Charles C. Williams Jr. Physician of the Year award is given to members of the staff who embody the “finest qualities of being a physician.” Physicians are nominated, and the previous physician of the year winners form a committee that makes the final selection.
