Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center (Houston). The Memorial Hermann Heart & Vascular Institute opened in Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center in 2008. Affiliated with The University of Texas Medical School at Houston, the Heart & Vascular Institute offers comprehensive cardiac care, including a chest pain center, cardiology, cardiothoracic and vascular surgery and cardiac rehabilitation. Physicians affiliated with the institute were the first in the world to perform robotic-assisted reconstructive surgery, which showed for the first time that heart disease can be reversed. U.S. News & World Report ranked Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center among the top 50 hospitals in the nation for cardiology and heart surgery in its 2016-17 rankings.
