The center was created through a partnership between Wellmont Health System, the Wellmont CVA Heart Institute and Alpha Natural Resources, a coal company. The facility includes eight preparation, holding and recovery beds, a cardiac catheterization lab and new clinical support offices.
Wellmont is offering Alpha employees heart health educational sessions on topics including heart attack prevention, cholesterol management and diabetes.
