Mayo Clinic’s 2 Minnesota Hospitals to Be Called “Campuses”

Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic’s two hospitals in Rochester — Saint Marys Hospital and Rochester Methodist Hospital — will be referred to by their campus when they combine to form a single licensed facility, according to a Post-Bulletin report.

Mayo Clinic announced in March that Saint Marys and Rochester Methodist would become one facility called Mayo Clinic Hospital-Rochester beginning Jan. 1, 2014. To differentiate the two, one will be referred to as the Saint Marys Campus and the other as the Methodist Campus, according to the report.

Merging the two hospitals as one facility is intended to better reflect Mayo Clinic’s integration and value and “ensure accurate reporting of data,” Mayo spokesman Bryan Anderson said in the report.
