Man arrested after reports he was shirtless with a sword on South Carolina hospital roof

Union (S.C.) Medical Center, part of Spartanburg (S.C.) Regional Healthcare System, confirmed Union police arrested a man Sunday morning following reports he was shouting profanity and under substance influence on hospital grounds.

Police said the 26-year-old man, Chuck Randall Lipsey Jr., had stood shirtless on the hospital roof with a sword, according to a WSPA report.

Police learned about the incident after 1 a.m. Sunday. The TV station reports officers found Mr. Lipsey standing near an ambulance parking area when they got to UMC, and he told police, “It was a nice view up there” on the roof.

Police arrested Mr. Lipsey for disorderly conduct.
