The new 192-bed facility in Augusta — called the Alfond Center for Health — consolidates all inpatient services from two MaineGeneral campuses in downtown Augusta and Waterville, according to a news release. MaineGeneral completed the transition with the help of CBRE Group, a commercial real estate services and investment firm.
The new facility also provides all outpatient care previously offered by the downtown Augusta campus. Administrative offices and support services also relocated to the Alfond Center.
Augusta-based MaineGeneral Health opened the $312 million Alfond Center in November. The 640,000-square-foot hospital includes six procedure rooms for endoscopy and cystoscopy, three oversized operating rooms and a cardiac catheterization laboratory.
