Loyola University Medical Center (Maywood, Ill.). Loyola University Health System has two locations dedicated to cancer care — Maywood-based Loyola University Medical Center’s Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center and Loyola Cancer Care and Research at the Marjorie G. Weinberg Cancer Center on the Gottlieb Memorial Hospital campus in Melrose Park, Ill. The American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer granted Loyola University Medical Center a 2014 outstanding achievement award. Oncology research also flourishes at Loyola, with investigators participating in more than 200 studies focused on cancer care since 1995. In December 2016, Loyola University Chicago Health Sciences Division received a $50,000 infrastructure grant to support pediatric cancer clinical trials.
