Lafayette (La.) General Medical Center. The Cancer Center of Acadiana at Lafayette General Medical Center opened in July 2010 and received accreditation from the American College of Surgeon’s Commission on Cancer in 2012. The cancer center includes 12 physicians, six infusion bays and a dedicated lung mass clinic. In March 2016, the Cancer Center of Acadiana received the Commission on Cancer’s outstanding achievement award for meeting 34 quality care standards.
