The three-story facility will feature 80 beds and will house acute-care services, including orthopedics.

The health system has filed a Certificate of Need application with the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration, according to the report.

Lee Memorial will no longer face competition from Naples, Fla.-based Health Management Associates, as the system has abandoned its pursuit of a license to build a hospital in south Lee County.
