Lee W. Hammerling, MD. Chief Physician Executive and CMO of ProMedica (Toledo, Ohio). As chief physician executive and CMO, Dr. Hammerling provides oversight for the development and growth of ProMedica’s service lines, population health strategies and academic programs and affiliations. Dr. Hammerling’s leadership responsibilities cover 13 hospitals, six ambulatory surgery centers and more than 2,100 physicians. He first joined ProMedica as an anesthesiologist and clinical care physician and rose through the ranks to become chair of Toledo Hospital’s anesthesiology department and president of ProMedica’s physicians and continuum services before being named CMO in 1999.
