This NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center located in the greater Los Angeles area is seeking a Director of Surgical Services. The Director of Surgical services will be a registered professional nurse who functions under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer. The Director of Surgical Services leads the inpatient OR, PACU, Sterile Processing, Pre-Op, and Ambulatory areas of Surgical Services. The role will also lead the in-patient post-operative surgical units. Develops screening and outpatient surgery programs that include colonoscopy screening and women’s services. The Director oversees and participates in the management and supervision of human and material resources as well as strategic planning, and budgeting. Ensure that budget revenue and expense targets are met. Consistently evaluates for patient safety and regulatory compliance (DHS, JCAHO, CAP and others) for all areas of responsibility
Required Minimum Education:
A MSN degree is required. The ideal candidate will have 8 to 10 years nursing experience required with a minimum of 5 years in nursing leadership.
Required Minimum Experience:
A minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of nursing practice in specialty area required; three (3) to five (5) years’ experience as a director of surgical services
