SKCC is one of 57 cancer centers across the country to receive this designation, the NCI’s highest form of recognition, according to an April 18 news release from Jefferson.
The designation acknowledges organizations for their efforts in cancer research and ability to convert scientific findings into innovative treatments. Comprehensive cancer centers are responsible for conducting research programs and community outreach that are tailored to the cancer needs of their communities, the release said.
