Healthcare Industry Adds 16,700 Jobs in August

The healthcare industry added 16,700 jobs in July, bringing the total number of healthcare jobs to nearly 14.4 million in August, according to the latest numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Broken out, the ambulatory healthcare sector which includes physician offices, outpatient centers and home healthcare, added 14,200 jobs while hospitals added 5,700 jobs. The healthcare industry has slowly been adding jobs since June.
