The program’s Basser Center for BRCA, established in 2012, is the first center in the world dedicated to the study of BRCA-related cancers and gene mutations. The National Cancer Institute has designated Abramson Cancer Center as a comprehensive cancer center since 1973. U.S. News & World Report ranked Penn Medicine’s Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania-Penn Presbyterian Medical Center among the top 50 cancer programs in the nation for 2017-18.
