The association’s Emerging Trends study said small businesses could provide hospitals with hands-on support, such as co-sponsoring wellness programs.

On the international front, fundraisers should embrace cross-border and multinational alliances spurred by developments such as telemedicine, cross-border cooperation and medical tourism.

It predicted that immigrant households will become a new source of philanthropy and recommended that fundraisers reach out to medical facilities in immigrants’ native lands.
