The 33,000-square-foot building will be built next to the hospital’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Center and will allow the hospital to have cardiologists on-site.
West Michigan Heart cardiologists, who partnered with the Spectrum Health Medical Group Cardiology, have committed to relocating into the new facility next year, Dale Sowders, president and CEO of Holland Hospital, said in the report. However, the presence of Spectrum Health on its main campus will not affect the Holland Hospital’s independent status, he added.
Construction is scheduled to be completed by May 2014.
