The developer who creates the winning app will receive a $100,000 award from HHS.
Winning apps could include a heart health risk assessment or a list of places to get blood-pressure and cholesterol checks, according to the report.
Essentially, the intent of the app will be to help consumers take stock of and improve their heart health.
